Re-Shape #1: Design/Code

Re-shape Tehran is an initiative that brings together creative practitioners from different fields who are interested in experimenting with technology, including artists, engineers, musicians, electricians, software developers, and others. This event marks the debut of Re-shape Tehran and focuses on the intersection of design and code.
Mehran Davari and Ramtin Taherian present #CRAFT 2014, an educational framework centred on new design tools and techniques, digital fabrication technologies, and design-research methodologies. The programme introduces foundational knowledge while emphasising its application through one-to-one scale projects. Responding to changing disciplinary parameters, CRAFT proposes a computational rethinking of architecture and fabrication processes.
Ali Reza Memarian presents Let’s Think Generative, focusing on the creation of complex geometries through generative algorithms inspired by natural systems and everyday routines, demonstrated through a series of smaller projects.
Ali Eslami presents Virtually Copyright, a project that reconstructs paintings by Belgian artist René Magritte within virtual environments. By translating these works into immersive digital space, the project extends Magritte’s exploration of reality and representation, while also addressing the conceptual and legal challenges posed by copyright.
John Bardakos presents Biofeedback Loops. An artist, technologist, and researcher working across animation, fine arts, and virtual reality, Bardakos combines traditional artistic approaches with digital workflows to explore feedback systems between the body, technology, and perception.
Venue: Sazmanab (Khaghani St.)
