Artist Talk: Manuel Buerger

Sazmanab

Manuel Buerger runs a design laboratory in Berlin and works with clients internationally. His practice is characterised by multi-layered narratives that challenge viewers through processes of deconstruction and reconstruction of meaning. In his essay Slippery Design, Buerger explores ideas of misunderstanding and misdirection as productive strategies for encouraging discourse and sustaining ongoing communication.

His clients include Transmediale Festival and House of Electronic Arts Basel, among others. Buerger also works with the University of Cincinnati, City University of Hong Kong, Berlin University of the Arts, and Merz Academy Stuttgart.
