Residency Programme

2011–2016

Sazmanab’s Residency Programme (2011–2016) was Tehran’s first open-call residency programme, welcoming artists and curators through an international open call. The programme focused on site-specific practice, research, and engagement with the city, with residents producing works, organising workshops, and presenting exhibitions in Tehran and other cities.

In its early years, residents lived and worked within the Sazmanab apartment, embedding the programme directly into the space’s domestic and organisational framework. As the programme expanded, it was supported through external collaborations, including accommodation provided in Tehran. Throughout its duration, the residency programme functioned as a key platform for exchange, experimentation, and dialogue.
