TVDinner Tehran

TVDinner is an iteration of the OtherIS video series focused on US-sanctioned countries, including Belarus, Côte d’Ivoire, Congo, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Myanmar/Burma, and Zimbabwe.
TVDinner launches on July 30, 2011 with a screening at Immigrant Movement International in New York City. A screening of videos related to Iran opens at Sazmanab in Tehran from August 19 through August 31. The project continues in New York at cafés and restaurants serving food from these countries through November 2011. The opening event is streamed live online from Tehran for the first time, expanding the audience beyond borders and inviting wider participation.
Sazmanab presents the Iran Channels of TVDinner, curated by Sohrab Kashani and Sandra Skurvida.

OtherIS is an ongoing project. To date, it comprises selections curated by Amirali Ghasemi (Iran), Sohrab Kashani (Iran), Shireen Naziree (Burma), Lena Prents (Belarus), Aneta Szylak and Hiwa K. (Iraqi Kurdistan), and Sandra Skurvida (Iran and Iraq).
Sandra Skurvida is present via Skype during the opening of TVDinner Tehran at Sazmanab.
