Presentation by Susann Wintsch (curator-in-residence)
Susann Wintsch curates TREIBSAND. She studied Art History and Comparative Literature at the University of Zurich and teaches and lectures at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK). In 2013 she curated The Fascination of Persia, a major exhibition on contemporary positions in Iranian art in collaboration with Museum Rietberg, Zurich. Susann Wintsch is also the chairwoman of Stromereien Performance Festival.
TREIBSAND is curated and edited by Susann Wintsch and presents original films and video works by artists living and working in Western Asia. Studio films, video essays, interviews, and texts by and about artists, critics, and cultural practitioners accompany the artworks. TREIBSAND also hosts screenings, special exhibitions, and discussions with artists, critics, curators, and others active in the field. A constant reflecting team includes artists Nancy Atakan, Parastou Forouhar, and Necla Rüzgar.
